Valentina Porter is a Los Angeles based recording artist, producer, and songwriter known for blending emotional storytelling with innovative sound design. Born and raised in New York City to a family of artists and of African and Russian descent, her musical voice is deeply shaped by rhythm, ancestry, and environment.
Valentina’s artistic foundation was formed early as she studied voice and dance at the Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center. She then attended the renowned LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts and later graduated from The Hartt School of Music, where she honed her craft as both a vocalist, performer and composer.
She is also known as one half of the genre-bending duo Emotional Oranges, whose distinct fusion of R&B and alternative pop earned international acclaim. As her artistry evolved, she began to explore a cinematic, meditative realm, one that lives between ambient and ancestral. Her compositions draw from West African percussion, field recordings, and textural synthesis, weaving organic and digital elements into soundscapes that feel alive, reflective, and deeply human.
A devoted advocate for creative wellness, Valentina’s ambient works explore identity, belonging, and the quiet beauty found in everyday ritual. Through her productions, guided meditations, and live performances, she continues to build sonic worlds that invite listeners to breathe deeper, slow down, and return to themselves.
